These are some technologies I use to run this website. Some are affiliate links that give me a discount on my hosting bills if you use them.
servers
I use Digital Ocean for virtual machine servers (Droplets) as well as S3 compatible backup storage (Spaces). My Droplets generally run an Ubuntu server, with the latest long term stable release.
I use Zoho to host my custom domain email address. It is very well priced for simple email.
I used to host a Dovecot/Postfix email server, and while I have never had a problem with email deliverability, it is one of the more demanding technologies to configure correctly. Outsourcing the email hosting allows me to make my other servers fairly disposable, while costing less than keeping a server dedicated to email.
I also like that it is not scanning my email to advertise to me.
